Energetic, Fun and Interactive

Our teaching philosophy differenciates us from all other learning centers. Our Turkish classes are not only very energetic, interactive and conversation-focused, but they are also fun-filled and specifically tailored to English speakers.

Empathy

Even though Americans have a different thinking pattern from that of Turks, most Turkish teachers think like a Turk while forming their lesson plans and teaching the language. This stems mainly from the lack of empathy and good English skills. At NYC Turkish Club, empathy is the key. Explanations of sophisticated grammar constructions are to the point. Students set the pace and they never feel lost in class.

Even though we follow a book, we prepare most of our class exercises and homework assignments ourselves, reflecting our own teaching style.

Teaching Style

The main difference between taking a history class and a language class is that in the history class you can just sit back and listen. Understanding the abstract concepts would suffice. In a language class, however, just understanding the concepts, without being able to use them fluently, wouldn't mean much. Understanding and speaking are two different required skills. At NYC Turkish Club, we make sure that the classes are as interactive as possible and each student gets to speak Turkish as much as possible. Our classes are so energetic and interactive that you will go home with the ability to "speak" a new topic "fluently" after each class.

In order to use the time more efficiently, the homework assignments and the related chapter(s) are sent via email after each class. This way the students, who miss that class, also keep updated and can catch up.

Practice

And, practice, practice, practice...This is how we teach this language very effectively and make fun!
